    A new world is recommended for this update but not strictly necessary. There are new structures added and minor world gen changes, but nothing that will cause world corruption.


    New Additions:

    • Many new quest additions
    • Added Ice and Fire Community Edition

    • Added Mobs of Mythology
    • Added Mutants and Zombies
    • Added Rotten Creatures
    • Added Iron Chests

    • Added Serious Player Animations + Serious Reanimated
    • Added SoundsBeGone
      • This allows players to disable any sound effect
    • Added Leaves be Gone
      • This should help lag in newly generated Spruce biomes
    • Added ImmediatelyFast (configured to be compatible with ModernUI)
    • Swapped AmbientSounds for Atmosfera
      • AmbientSounds doesn't work with SoundsBeGone so this was a necessary change for this new accessibility addition
    • Added an easy recipe for the tier one recall mirror to make it more accessible early game
    • Enabled FancyVFX "improved bow" (player and mobs have a circle showing when they are charging their bow and where their projectile will go)
      • This is configured to be less obstructive than it normally is

    Other Changes:

    • Updated all mods
    • Enemies now have shorter i-frame window, making them easier to hit with high attack speed or weapons that fire multiple projectiles.
    • Huge buffs to the Marium's Soulslike Weaponry gun items, making them viable options for a ranged weapon build
    • Changes to cave generation to make surface caves go much deeper and longer
    • Changes to the names of some mobs and items to differentiate them from ones with identical names
    • Armor tweaks to common mobs to assist with early game
    • Camera sway no longer changes crosshair's position on vertical axis
    • Fog has been added back to water
    • Adjusted brightness levels in the Nether
    • Disabled some dynamic lighting due to performance issues in large structures
      • Player-held items still work as normal
    • Jade tooltip now dodges boss/raid bars
    • Jade tooltip no longer has icons by default (this feature was very buggy and not very useful)
    • Greatly reduced the amount of time Advancement Plaques will stay on screen
    • Reduced the number of bubble particles in bubble columns by 95%
      • This will massively reduce the noise and lag in Bathhouses
    • Reduced the amount of smoke emitted from campfires
      • This will help improve lag in villages
    • Changed default damage particle behavior to "rising" (was "has gravity")
      • This should improve damage particle visibility when fighting large mobs like bosses
    • In-world health bars now work properly with shaders enabled
    • Greatly improved default appearance of Euphoria-patched shaders
    • Disabled dynamic handheld lighting in default settings of pre-installed shaders (this prevents it from being rendered twice)
    • Added small menu enhancements with ModpackUtils
      • Links to SAP mod page available on main menu

        • Wildling - Super jump, speed boost, fall damage resistance
        • Mer - Fast swimming, clear vision under water, ability to collect and eat Seagrass
        • Hellspawn - Immunity to fire and lava, can swim and see farther in lava, ignites entities on bare hand attack
        • Voidthing - Blink ability (middle click by default), extended reach (does not apply to weapons)
        • No Origin - No effect
    • Overhauled death
      • Dying now starts a countdown to respawning
      • Dying now only results in a random percentage of your items being taken, unless they are Soulbound
      • Dying now results in some of the player's XP being taken
    • Overhauled difficulty
      • Bosses are now significantly more difficult
      • Some enemies are now significantly more difficult, but scale based on what dimension they most commonly appear in
      • Melee weapon range improved across the board for shorter-range weapons
      • Player move speed increased while swinging melee weapons
      • Melee attack hitboxes now come out 50% faster
        • These changes should ensure more melee weapons are viable, rather than the longest-range ones just being objectively the best
    • Added Balanced Recall
      • Adds magic mirror, allowing a quick teleport back to your spawn point
    • Added a health gate mechanic, so if the player is above 12 hp they cannot die to to most damage that would otherwise be lethal, and will always survive on at least 1 hp. This also applies to fall damage.
      • Some magic attacks, such as Mine Cells boss boundaries, can bypass this.
    • The Nether has been COMPLETELY reworked:
      • Removed BetterNether
      • Removed Amplified Nether
      • Added Jaden's Nether Expansion
      • Added Nether Floating Islands
        • Falling in the void in the Nether teleports the player to y=350
        • Fall damage from this teleport is capped at 19
      • Added more nether structures
      • Added basic nether ores
    • Falling in the Void in The End now teleports the player to the Overworld sky
    • Falling out of the Overworld void (if you glitch your way out) now teleports the player back to y=350

      • Adds a new boss

    • Shoulder surfing is now the only third-person option, making it easier to quickly swap between perspectives during combat

    • The shoulder surfing camera is now perfectly centered by default (previously a few pixels off to the right by mistake)
    • The default FOV is now 100 (changed from 70)
    • Fixed an issue where the Archer's Magic Arrow spell could not be obtained

    • Known issue: Sometimes after config changes, launching the game will result in Java crashing with error code 6 during loading. Launching the game again will fix this issue.

    This is a totally new version of SAP based on 1.20.1 that focuses more on combat and progression. Most prominent changes are:

    • Movement! You can now slide, air-dive, and wall-run. Slide-jumping also gives a burst of speed, making it the new best way to traverse the world.
    • Difficulty settings! Each mob now has a set difficulty, irrespective of where or what level you are. This increases per player by 20% for all stats. Lenient deaths are also no more; the death system is just like Vanilla.
    • Progression! No longer are levels just basic stats, version 5 now uses the Simply Skills progression system.
    • Ambience! Enjoy tons of new furniture, passive mobs, and structures.
    • Spells! With Spellblades and Such, enjoy tons of new spellbooks to experiment with.
    • Dimensions! Now with Mine Cells, and the Mirror dimension from Spellblades and Such.
    • Trimmed fat! Removed features that were rarely/never used, or were confusing.
