Silk worms will infest any tree (even modded ones) and the leaves will lose their color as the infestation takes place.

Shown here is a cobblestone generator, a netherrack generator using Witch Water, Oak Crucibles melting leaves into water, sieves filtering through gravel, barrels composting apples and carrots into dirt, and porcelain crucibles melting stone into lava.

Using a Sculk Core on a Sculk Shrieker will allow it to spawn Wardens.
