    [2.0.0] The Endless Update!

    Dimensions come, dimensions go. Some quality of life changes. Some unpleasant surprises. A sanctum sanctorum.

    This is a major update and makes some incompatible changes to world generation. Don't try to update a world from 1.0.x – start a new one.

    Changed

    • Removed the End dimension
      • Removed strongholds and all End Portal related content
      • Eyes of ender lead to a different structure
      • Required End content has been moved to a new secret cave biome, the Ender Caves
      • Renamed Dragon's Breath to Dragonfly Breath. Can be obtained in small amounts by feeding dragonflies unusual snacks
    • Increased minimum distance between shipwrecks
    • Cleaned up the EMI index a bit and grouped more items
    • Tweaked Ecologics walnut trees to fit in better with Geophilic oak trees
    • Reduced spawn counts for Corsairs on beaches
    • Made Gliders recipes cheaper
    • The slingshot can now fire splash potions, fire charges, bombs, snowballs, and ender pearls
    • Disabled biome temperature speed modifiers for Small Ships

    • Removed a few enchantments
      • Dullness: too dull

    • Suppressed a bunch of useless log messages
    • Switched item removals to use Reliable Remover instead of custom KubeJS scripts
    • Restored Inventory Profiles Next and replaced MacOS Input Fixes with NoEmu to work around item scrolling bug
    • When popping up the location of an explorer map in the atlas, we try to set the zoom level to fit both the player marker and the map destination marker on screen
    • Wandering traders and cartographers will sell a Mysterious Underground Map for one obsidian block

    • Added the Port-Folio, a little piece of luggage that allows the player to access a personal pocket dimension
      • Crafted with a tier 2 pedestal
      • To use, place on the ground, bind with a Paintbrush, and click to open

    What would a new release be without a few hotfixes?

    • Remove Spawn Balance Utility unti l can figure out why it was blocking all Hybrid Aquatic mobs. This made it unreasonably difficult to progress!
    • Disable auto-third-person when riding animals
    • Fix some broken messages in bottles.
    • Auto-load the About screen on first load.
    • Fix some elements being misplaced on the About screen when resizing windows.
    • Fixed the Brigg recipe having the wrong item IDs for a couple of ingredients.

    A release version!

    Significant changes since the last Beta:

    • Removed some unused large assets. Smaller pack!
    • Added an About screen.
    • Spawning adjustments to prevent vanilla mobs from being crowded out by modded mobs
    • Add some instructions to the Eccentric Tome lore. The tome also only has the guidebook in it initially.
    • Pirates occasionally drop grog
    • Game days are now 20 minutes long. Nights are still 10 minutes.
    • You can now burn various types of shells to get bonemeal.
    • Prevented otters from boarding ships.
    • Simplified and improved pirate ship navigation.
    • Replaced KubeJS scripts for ship upgrades with a new mod.
    • Fixed ship damage not being persisted on save.
    • Updated Elder Guardian Loot tables with sweet trident stuff.

    This update has only one notable new feature, but it's a big one!

    • PIRATE SHIPS ON THE HIGH SEAS
      • Appear randomly in deep ocean biomes
      • More likely to appear at dawn, dusk, in the rain, or on nights with a new moon
      • Chase players around firing volleys of cannonballs
      • Flee when out of ammunition
      • More likely to appear, faster, and more heavily armed depending on local difficulty

    Also:

    • Fixed an issue where the Deeper Down dimension got weird because it reused noises and density functions from the overworld.

    Welcome to the first public beta release of Spectral Seas! This release focuses on refining the loot system, tuning structure placement, and some fairly major surgery to the enchanting system. Here are some things to be aware of:

    • The enchanting table has been removed! Collect enchanted items from structures and ruins and combine them with an anvil. Later in the progression, other options for enchanting open up.
    • Diamonds are rarer in loot. Most diamond equipment in loot is "broken" and requires diamonds to repair.
    • Named or enchanted items don't vanish at zero durability, they become broken and unusable until repaired at an anvil.
    • Most types of equipment can be upgraded between material tiers. Unenchanted items can be upgraded at the crafting table, enchanted items need an anvil.
    • Ship upgrades are primarily found in Pirate (pillager) structures. Face off against these ruffians to make your ship faster or hold more cargo.
    • Structures contain themed loot. The resources and enchantments available vary significantly between locations.

    • Fixed: Tag and item modification scripts needed multiple reloads because we were reading the Item registry too early.
    • Swords, cutlasses, rapiers, and longswords have their own Tinkerer's smithing types, so they can't be crossgraded to one another willy-nilly.
