    • You can now craft vanilla chests with modded woods if they have no variant chest.
      • This was a longstanding (3+ years) issue Siuolplex found a cursed workaround for!
    • Trowel -> Iron Nugget smelting recipe now checks if the Trowel module is enabled
    • Updated Ukrainian translation (StarmanMine142)
    • Updated Japanese translation (Abbage230)
    • Improved Tooltips' Enchanting Tooltips now checks for the minecraft:stored_enchantments item component instead of Enchanted Books/Ancient Tomes
    • Add some variance to the fairy rings
    • The Blossom and Ancient Trees modules now contain descriptions with their corresponding in-game names (the items had their names changed previously, but the module and internal names did not)

    Quark 4.1-479 For Neoforge 1.21.1

    Fixed the trowel thanks to LeoBeliik, and also snuck in an experimental module.

    Fixes

    • Fixed #5513 (and all related issues): Trowel Crash: Item must not be minecraft:air
    • Fixed #5540: Redstone Randomizer Makes Incorrect Place and Break sounds
    • Fixed #5541: Automatic Tool Restock can swap the trowel when it shouldn't
    • Fixed #5545: Ladders missing #c:ladders item and block tag
    • Fixed #5547: Jasper, Limestone, Shale, Myalite, Permafrost, and their polished varients, along with polished calcite, have incorrect stone tag

    Changes

    • Added a Conditional Tags datapack for Variant Ladders
    • Polished stone blocks are no longer under the #c:stones item/block tags

    Additions

    • Added Vanilla Stone Clusters module, disabled by default, under the Experimental category. This is an attempt to restore part of the pre-1.18 version of Quark's Big Stone Clusters, where Granite, Diorite, and Andesite only spawn in biome-dependent clusters.
      • If this module is enabled, a datapack (quark_vdo_vanilla_stone_clusters) will be loaded that sets the ore_granite etc. ConfiguredFeatures to size 0.
      • This module uses the BigStoneClusters module's blocksToReplace config.
      • This is under Experimental because I don't know if the datapack will cause issues, and the default biomes probably need to be changed, and if enabled, triggers the "Experimental Settings" screen when loading a world and I don't know why!
      • Despite this module's name, Calcite is still generated from the BigStoneClusters module.

    Quark 4.1-478 For Neoforge 1.21.1

    Mostly just a hotfix for matrix enchanting (thanks Siuolplex). The Trowel is still buggy, so we still recommend making backups before using it.

    Fixes

    • #5537: Stripped wood blocks (Azalea, Ashen, and Trumpet) have wrong tag
    • #5522: 4.1-477 enchanting matrix is unusable
    • Fixed Torch Arrow entity not having a language key set for it (only in en_us)
    • Fixed placed Angry Tiny Potatoes not preserving their anger when broken

    Changes

    • Glow shrooms can now be placed on any block with the tag quark:glow_shroom_may_place_on, although by default this tag only includes Deepslate.

    Quark 4.1-477 for NeoForge 1.21.1

    Lots of fixes and a couple of other changes to improve the out-of-the-box experience. I am aware of many other issues but haven't had any luck fixing them. For now, I recommend:

    • Be especially careful (make world backups) when using the Trowel, putting nontypical blocks in your hotbar and using it can result in player data loss
    • Don't use NeoContinuity with Quark as it seems to cause inexplicable startup crashes
    • EDIT: Don't put items on Tiny Potato as they will disappear when the world is next loaded

    • Fix #5215: Leaving "Back" key unbound causes all unknown keys to trigger it.
    • Fix #5495: Golden Pickaxe is broken
    • Fix #5496: Blocks & items are not compostable
    • Fix #5500: Variant chests still visible in recipes even when turned off.

    • Fix #5504: Disabling Utility Recipes deletes recipes for stone tools
    • Fix #5507: Potential incorrect tagging on framed glass blocks

    Changes

    • Variant Chests, Variant Bookshelves, and Variant Ladders modules now have anti-overlap with Carved Wood and will disable themselves if that mod is installed
    • Updated Simplified Chinese translation (qznfbnj)
    • Updated Japanese translation (Abbage230)
    • Updated Russian translation (AstardGrimoire)
    • Updated German translation (GulutGames)
    • Updated various translation files using unused Twitter and Reddit translation keys, replaced with Forum and Bluesky keys.

    Additions

    • Added a system to add tags to items/blocks depending on config via additional datapacks. Unfortunately this is a kind of band-aid fix that doesn't solve the root issue of there being no way to conditionally add items to tags.
      • Added Conditional Tag datapacks for: Variant Chests, Variant Bookshelves, and Framed Glass
      • This system does not account for multi-condition items, for example, Ashen Chests will still be in the c:chests tag if Variant Chests is enabled but Ancient Wood is not
      • More tag contents may be moved to additional conditional datapacks as needed for future updates. We recommend that modpack makers check if disabled content being in present tags creates issues (and removing said items from the tag with CraftTweaker or similar) instead of relying on the config.
      • This will end up bloating the /datapack list command, but that's a small price to pay to fix certain essential tags containing disabled content.

    Quark 4.1-476 For Neoforge 1.21.1

    More bugfixes! Yippee! There's still some things not working quite right, but I hope this release fixes all the major/fatal issues for now.

    Fixes

    • Fixed #5456: Crash on client startup / screen init: BackButtonKeybindModule NPE (this.backKey is null) on NeoForge 1.21.1 (Thanks auri-f5bde6)
    • Fixed #5483: Singleplayer performance issue with expensive worldgen and EnhancedLaddersModule
    • Fixed #5484: [1.21.1] Other mods' built in override recipe for stone tools doesn't work and only Quark's version load even if you set the mod to load after Quark
    • Added a potential fix for #5492: Latest versions of Quark+Create (ClassCastException) issue Neoforge 1.21.1
    • Fixed #5494: quark runes don't spawn in the loot tables
    • Fixed Runic Etching Smithing Template duplication recipe using corundum when corundum is disabled (an alternative recipe using Amethyst Blocks now exists)

    Changes

    • Quark VDO has been split into different datapacks for each relevant feature. Each datapack now uses datapack filters to disable relevant vanilla recipes instead of overriding the entire file. This should fix problems with Quark always overriding certain data files no matter what.
    • The Quark Programmer Art resource pack is no longer deployed to the instance's resourcepacks folder if the option is enabled. Instead, it is directly added to the resource pack selection screen under "Available", similar to other mods' optional resource packs. You can safely delete Quark Programmer Art.zip from your resourcepacks folder if it was previously deployed.

    • Added a General config option to disable ALL Quark VDO datapacks. Only do this if you know what you're doing!

    • Added Ars Nouveau's fruits to quark:hoe_harvestables block tag
    • Added an intentional startup crash when detecting a 1.20.1 config file. Using configs in the wrong format will cause issues, so we recommend you regenerate it
    • Improved the quark:enchant_tome loot function for use in datapacks; see quark:demo/enchant_tome_function_demo loot table for usage.

    Removals

    • Removed old general config options that weren't being used. These don't require you do regenerate the config, don't worry chat

    • Hotfix, fixing a mixin crash on world load thanks to not using fabric mixins

    Previous update patch incase you missed it:

    • Added Beach Villager Type (module)
    • Magnets have shiny new particles!
    • Iron Golems and minecarts can be pushed by magnets (plus other tagged entities)
    • Magnetic falling blocks and item entities can also be pushed
    • Player having some iron armor are also pushable
    • Magnets can now push and pull blocks through breakable blocks (like tall grass)
    • They can also push iron rods through blocks
    • Improved trowel item logic, now works with more complex block items
    • Improved ITroweable interface and also added a blacklist and whitelist tag for it
    • Cleaned up FoxHound model and fixed some visual inconsistencies with it (such as baby model being offset)
