CAUTION: Everything technically works in 1.21.6, but I've had a few crashes related to running out of heap space trying to render the glamour table display entities. This never happened for me in 1.21.5 or before, but has already happened a few times in 1.21.6. I'll be looking to see if there are any optimizations I can make on my end to reduce the possibility of crashing.

If you've been seeing issues with performance when items are being edited, this version should help!

Previous versions used a ton of interaction entities to determine which pixel the player was trying to edit. Now, through some super advanced maths techniques math I learned in middle school, I've reduced it to a single interaction entity and pixel-precise raycasting. This means there are now 255 fewer entities in the world for each item being edited in a glamour or painting table!

This version updates the pack to 1.21.5! It includes the breaking changes from the previous smithed update - If you haven't already updated to that version, remove any painting/glamour tables from your world before updating (just the blocks need removed - it's ok to have them in your inventory). It also brings back canvas duplication! Craft a canvas with a painting item to create 4 copies of the painted canvas.

This update is entirely backend changes to make the datapack compatible with the Smithed/Weld ecosystem of datapacks. It WILL break existing glamour and painting tables, though items SHOULD keep their textures and data.

Before updating, remove all painting and glamour tables from your world! If you've updated without heeding this warning, or simply missed a table, head to the Discord for help and I'll see what I can do to fix things.

This version has been updated to support the latest snapshot (Snapshot 25w06a).

It brings with it a handful of bug fixes, particularly in regards to the Mace texture, as well as a ton of comments in the function files to explain more of what's happening. Keep an eye out for a full technical deep dive soon!

This update implements Minecraft's multi-version pack format changes to work on both the latest release (1.21.4) and the latest snapshot (25w02a). You should be able to install this pack in either version and things will work smoothly.

Release Features This update improves performance by removing interaction entities when there are no items in the table. It also adds a visual update to the glamour table when an item is in it.

Snapshot Features If you're on Minecraft snapshot 25w02a, this version should fix a variety of broken name strings. It also adds a canvas duplication recipe. Crafting a canvas with a painting item will give 4 copies of the painted canvas.

Modrinth was being silly with how it downloaded data and resource packs, making it harder for some people to find the resource pack.

This version doesn't have any changes from the previous, except that the resource pack is included under the datapack zip so both packs can be downloaded at once.

This update has higher quality textures for the work stations, including a cleaner background to make editing tools on the glamour table easier.

This update also replaces the white outline on freshly glamourized tools with a coloured outline, preserving the texture of the handle to make smaller tweaks to textures easier.

Minor tweaks and datapack/resourcepack version bumps

Added a 'glam_item' model that renders like a normal item instead of a tool. Adjusted the third person model for canvases to be more like normal items.

This update removes the ability to glamour paper, but adds a paint table. The paint table is essentially an early-game glamour table that only works on canvases. Canvases will be a full block in size when placed in an item frame, to allow for custom paintings.

I tried to make sure old textures would still work, but I may have broken some things. Ping me on Discord and I'll see what I can do to restore any old items

You can now use a paintbrush on a water cauldron to remove the dye and turn it back into a normal brush!

Updated data and resource pack versions

In this update, glamoured paper is scaled up 2x when placed in an item frame. This means a glamoured paper is now the size of a full block, and can be used for lots of custom art! The default outline of glamoured paper has been updated to reflect this change. All other glamoured tools remain at their appropriate size in an item frame.

Also fixed a bug that could occur when breaking glamour tables in adjacent blocks.
