Delve into a world ravaged by a terrifying blood infection, where once-peaceful creatures are corrupted and your own survival is constantly under threat.
Infected Squid
- New Mob: Infected squid with 30 hearts of health and 4 hearts of damage
- Behavior: Water-native movement, swims without drowning, and can move on land at one-eighth water speed
- Spawning: Can spawn in water above infected blocks (requires two water blocks above) and when an infected mob kills a squid
Infected Movement
- Water Walking: All infected mobs travel on the water surface
Infection Sounds
- Squish: Plays when hitting infected mobs and loops once per second while standing on infected blocks
- Screech: 25% chance every 10 seconds when a player is within 25 blocks (per infected creature)

Conversion Blocks: When an infected mob kills and converts another mob, an infected block appears beneath the new infected mob

New Features
- Infected Log and Infected Planks: New infected block types that spread infection.
- Custom Creative Tab: All Blood Infection 999 mod items and blocks are now available in a dedicated creative tab.
- Infected Planks Crafting: Infected Logs can now be crafted into 4 Infected Planks in any crafting area.
- Infected Block Spreading: Infected Logs and Infected Planks spread infection to nearby blocks, similar to the Infected Block.
- Infected Mob Death Spreading: When an infected mob dies, an Infected Block will now spawn at its location.
Changes
- Infected Villager Transformation: Villagers killed by infected mobs or the infection toxin will now transform into Infected Villagers.
- Infected Mob Targeting: Infected mobs will no longer attack other infected entities, even if hurt by them.
- Infected Block Spread Speed: Infected blocks now spread infection twice as fast.
- Infected Flesh Drop Chance: All infected mobs now have a 40% chance to drop 1-3 Infected Flesh upon death.
- Improved Display Names: All mod items, blocks, and the creative tab now display proper names instead of their technical IDs.
- Added Animations To The Infected Mobs: All mobs now have basic animations which will be improved sometime in the future.
New Features
- Infected Cow: Introduced a new infected variant of the Cow. It behaves similarly to other corrupted creatures, attacking players and other non-infected entities. It can also transform from a regular cow if killed by an infected mob or the Infection Toxin.
- Infected Cow Spawn Egg: A new spawn egg for the Infected Cow has been added, sharing the distinct black texture of other infected mob spawn eggs.
- Infected Flesh: A new item dropped by all infected mobs (Chicken, Pig, Sheep, Cow) with a 10% chance to drop 1-3 pieces. This item serves as a crafting ingredient.
- Handle Item: A new crafting component that visually resembles a stick. It is crafted from one Stick and one piece of White Wool.
- Infected Sword: A new weapon crafted using a Handle and two Infected Flesh. This sword features a unique infected texture and applies the dangerous Infection Toxin debuff to any entity it hits.
- Enhanced Cure Potion: The Cure Potion is now fully consumable upon use, similar to vanilla potions. It removes the "Infected" status effect and has a unique texture for easy identification. It is now correctly displayed in the Brewing creative tab.
Changes
- Mob AI Improvements: All corrupted creatures (Infected Chicken, Pig, Sheep, and Cow) have received significant AI enhancements:
- They can now break doors and windows, making them a more formidable threat.
- Their pursuit range has been extended to 50 blocks, allowing them to persistently chase targets until death or until the target moves a significant distance away.
- Infected mobs now have a 10% chance to apply the "Infected" effect to players they attack.
- Localization: All new items, blocks, entities, and effects now have proper display names in English (
en_us.json), resolving issues where only their internal IDs were shown. - Texture Updates:
- The Infected Sword now uses the dedicated
infectedsword.pngtexture. - The Cure Potion now correctly displays its
cure_i.pngtexture in both handheld and inventory views. - The Handle item now uses its dedicated
handle.pngtexture.

Bug Fixes
- Resolved the "Duplicate DefaultAttributes entry" crash by ensuring entity attributes are registered only once.
- Fixed the "MeshDefinition incompatible with LayerDefinition" error in
InfectedCowModel.java. - Corrected the
CurePotionItemto be properly consumable and not return a glass bottle. - Resolved the
IllegalArgumentExceptionrelated to recipe serializer registration by removing redundant Java recipe registration for standard shaped/shapeless recipes.
