Моды/Animal Weights
  • 1.0.6

Diets are no longer hard-coded per entity ID. The new lookup tries #animalweights:diet/{herbivore,carnivore,omnivore,aquatic} entity tags first, then falls back to where the entity actually spawns in the biome registry: water-category spawns become aquatic, monster-only spawns become carnivore, cold or ocean biomes lean carnivore, plain creature spawns become herbivore. Whatever it picks is cached into the entityDiets map and saved back, so modded mobs get a sane default on first sighting and you can still override any entry by hand. Vanilla defaults moved into bundled tag files, so the entityDiets map starts empty.

Added entityFilterMode so you can pick how the mod chooses which animals to touch. BLACKLIST is the old behavior (track every Animal, except entries in disabledEntities). WHITELIST only tracks entries in the new enabledEntities list — for when you only want cows, pigs, and chickens. VANILLA_ONLY tracks every minecraft: entity plus anything in enabledEntities, minus anything in disabledEntities — for skipping modded oddities like Touhou Little Maid maids without writing a giant blacklist.

Fixed tamed mobs from other mods (Caverns and Chasms rats, etc.) ignoring the sit command. The habitat-wander goal now respects isOrderedToSit and is no longer added to tamables at all.

  • animalweights-26.1.2-Fabric-1.0.5.jar

    release21 мая 2026 г.

    1.0.5

Animals now pause their weight cycle at night. They rest until dawn, don't lose weight while you're sleeping, and the magnifying glass / Jade tooltip shows "Resting until dawn" instead of a countdown. Disable via pauseAtNight: false in the config.

Added diet groups. Carnivores (wolf, cat, ocelot, polar bear, frog) no longer need grazing; they get a free point in place of it. Aquatic mobs (axolotl, dolphin, all fish) need water and ignore grass. Omnivores (chicken, panda, fox, bee, turtle, hoglin, sniffer, armadillo) need light, space, and either water or grass. Herbivores still need all four (light/water/grass/space). Modded animals default to omnivore so they're not punished for unfamiliar habitats. Override per entity ID via the entityDiets config map.

Added disabledEntities config option to fully exclude entity types from the system. Useful for cosmetic pets like Quark's Shiba Inus that have no loot worth scaling. Disabled mobs get no weight tracking, no sick tint, no breeding block, no drop scaling, no Jade tooltip, no chat output from the magnifying glass. Example:

    "disabledEntities": ["quark:shiba"]

    1.0.4

    • Added a Magnifying Glass item (craft with spyglass + paper) that prints an animal's weight, sick status, habitat checks, and time until the next check. Lives in a new Animal Weights creative tab.
    • Added Jade compat: hover over an animal to see the same info with a live countdown.
    • Fixed animals not gaining weight even with all conditions met. Each animal now has its own counter that survives chunk reloads.
    • Fixed torches being ignored. Lowered default light threshold from 15 to 10. Existing configs need lightThreshold updated manually or animalweights.json deleted to regenerate.
    • Habitat light check now uses the brightest of sun or block light. Daytime pastures pass.
    • Cheaper wander-to-habitat AI. Big farms no longer eat noticeable tick budget.
    • Crowding matches by entity type instead of exact Java class, so modded variants count.
    • Added sickThreshold config (default 0), so raising minWeight above 0 no longer makes everything permanently sick.
    • Reworked config with comments.
    • Reworked overlay display to fade in/out when looking at an entity.

  • animalweights-26.1.2-Fabric-1.0.4.jar

    release20 мая 2026 г.

Added a Magnifying Glass item that shows an animal's condition when you right-click it (weight, sick status, habitat checks for light/water/grazing/space, and how long until the next check). Craft it from a spyglass and paper. The item lives in a new Animal Weights creative tab.

Added Jade compat. Hover over any animal with Jade installed to see the same condition info, including a live countdown to the next weight check.

Fixed animals not gaining weight even with all conditions met. The internal check that runs every weight cycle was tied to global game time and could be skipped if the chunk unloaded for any moment, leaving mobs stuck. Each animal now has its own counter that survives chunk reloads.

Fixed torches being ignored as a light source. The default light threshold was 15, which only a torch's own block met. Lowered to 10 so torches actually count at reasonable spacing. If you already have a config file, edit lightThreshold to 10 or delete animalweights.json to regenerate.

Habitat detection now uses the brightest of sun or block light. Outdoor pastures during the day no longer fail the light check.

Made the wander-to-habitat AI cheaper. Animals still seek out better spots but the goal no longer eats a noticeable chunk of server tick budget on big farms.

Crowding now matches species by entity type instead of exact Java class, so modded variants of vanilla animals count correctly.

Added a separate sick threshold to the config (sickThreshold, default 0) so you can raise minWeight above 0 without every animal becoming permanently sick.

  • Added a Magnifying Glass item that shows an animal's condition when you right-click it (weight, sick status, habitat checks for light/water/grazing/space, and how long until the next check). Craft it from a spyglass and paper. The item lives in a new Animal Weights creative tab.

Added Jade compat. Hover over any animal with Jade installed to see the same condition info, including a live countdown to the next weight check.
