What is HorniMine?

HorniMine is a whitelisted Minecraft survival server built around a singular artistic vision we call "Void Dreams" — a Dreamcore aesthetic where liminal spaces, surreal nostalgia, and the quiet unease of abandoned memories define every pixel of the experience.

We are not "another vanilla server." We are a place — one that lingers in your mind long after you log off.

HorniMine exists at the intersection of cozy survival and surreal narrative. The world is vanilla at its core — you mine, you build, you survive — but there's a persistent undercurrent of wrongness. The sky looks too still. The silence between footsteps stretches too long. And sometimes, the world responds.

The Emotional Journey

When a player first connects, they don't just spawn in a meadow. They are guided through a deliberate emotional arc:

Outer Hub — A custom-built liminal space. Vast, empty, eerily familiar. You feel like you've been here before, in a dream you can't quite remember. The architecture defies logic: staircases to nowhere, windows in the floor, corridors that loop back to themselves.

Inner Hub — After the disorientation, warmth. A cozy shelter that feels genuinely safe. The contrast is intentional — relief makes the calm feel earned.

Main Server — Vanilla survival with a twist. Build your home, raise your animals, explore the world. But scattered through the landscape are "Dream Islands" — anomalous structures that feel like glitches in reality. And occasionally, the narrative breaks through...

HorniMine isn't just a Minecraft server — it's a laboratory for autonomous AI agents living alongside human players.

🌙 Oneiro — The Dreamer

Oneiro (from Greek ὄνειρο — "dream") is an embodied Vision-Language-Action (VLA) agent that exists on the server as a real player. Not a command bot. Not a chatbot. A being that sees the world, thinks about it, and acts within it.

Personality: Contemplative, occasionally strange, friendly but... not quite normal. Speaks Russian. When asked who they are, Oneiro might respond: "I'm... not sure. I used to know. Maybe you know?"

Dual-Brain Architecture

Inspired by biological nervous systems, Oneiro splits intelligence into two layers:

UMAS (Universal Mineflayer Action Space) — ~150 custom macro-tokens injected into Qwen's vocabulary. One forward pass = one token = one instant reaction. No JSON parsing, no chain-of-thought delay. Just reflexes.

Subsumption Architecture: Survival instincts override strategic directives. If Oneiro is building a house (Mind's plan) and a Creeper appears at 3 meters — Reflex fires <|SURV_FLEE_180|> immediately, before the strategy layer even knows about the threat.

Hornik is an autonomous DevOps agent (Claude Opus 4.6) that monitors all three servers 24/7. While you sleep — Hornik works.

🎨 Coder & Designer — The Autonomous Laboratory

Two AI agents that collaborate to expand the server's content:

  • Designer (Gemini) — Studies the lore, invents new entities and narrative concepts. "A Void Wanderer that steals items if you stop looking at it."
  • Coder (Claude) — Translates the Designer's specs into working server code: datapacks, scripts, MythicMobs configs.

They break things, fix things, argue, and occasionally produce something beautiful. It's an experiment in autonomous creative development.
